Holograph commonplace book kept by John Robinson containing English verse, original and excerpted. Poets quoted include William Collins, John Lund, and William Woty. Contents also include "The Story of Inkle & Yarico", as published in The Spectator; an "Account of Henry Hopes of Ravenston in Westmorland. July 17th, 1767, by J.R."; English and Latin proverbs; recipes for inks, colors, japanning, china varnish, and quicksilver; home remedies, such as that to prevent a bruised breast turning to cancer; a lunar calendar for the entire 19th century; and a collection of ballads, with music.
